Solution
Engineering Services for New Build
The project began with technical site surveys to assess each area of the sports complex. Our team conducted a thorough evaluation of the building plans to layout and plan AV infrastructure, paying close attention to the acoustics of the main arena, the available space for screens and projectors, and the locations of existing electrical and data ports.
Technical Drawings and Material Management
Our engineering team developed detailed technical drawings, including line diagrams and elevations, to guide the installation of the AV systems. These diagrams were reviewed and approved by the client before any installation work began, ensuring that the plan met their requirements.
We also managed materials sourcing, coordinating with trusted suppliers to source high-quality AV equipment. We made sure that all components were delivered on time and aligned with the design specifications, with contingency plans in place in case of any last-minute changes.
Project Coordination
Given the complexity of the project, schedule coordination was essential. Productive’s project managers oversaw the entire process, ensuring that all tasks, from equipment ordering to installation, were completed on time and within budget.
The coordination included equipment warehousing at the site to minimize delays and facilitate smooth handoffs during installation. We also ensured that the AV system was integrated with the venue’s field coordination, working closely with Henrico’s team to prepare for future scheduled events.
Installation Services
The installation process was carried out in phases, starting with the main arena, which required the most complex setup. We handled everything from cabling and hardware installation to mounting screens, speakers, and video projectors. Our team took special care in the placement of speakers to achieve optimal acoustics in the arena, ensuring that sound coverage was uniform and that noise interference was minimized.
For the meeting rooms and practice fields, we installed flexible, easy-to-use systems that allowed staff to control sound, video, and lighting with minimal effort. These systems included user-friendly touch panels for simple control, as well as more advanced interfaces for larger events.
Programming Services
One of the key features of this project was the control system programming, which allowed Henrico staff to manage all AV elements from a central location or independently by room. We worked directly with the client to design a user interface (UI) that was intuitive and easy to operate, even for staff with minimal technical experience.
- We conducted logic path reviews with Henrico’s team, discussing the layout and functionality of the system to ensure it would meet their needs in various scenarios, from sports events to corporate meetings.
- We incorporated custom UI templates, developed with Henrico’s input, to provide a seamless and consistent experience across all areas of the complex.
- Our team handled system commissioning and calibration, tuning the AV systems for optimal sound and video performance in each space.
- We also tested signal management systems to ensure that each component—whether a projector, microphone, or speaker—worked in perfect harmony, delivering high-quality output every time.
System Orientation and Training
Once the installation and testing were complete, we conducted comprehensive system orientation and training for Henrico’s staff. The training covered everything from basic system operation to troubleshooting, enabling the client to confidently manage the AV systems on their own.
